Reinvesting Into the Kirkwood Community

Kirkwood Electric’s efficient operation has enabled it to make large deposits into the City’s General Fund. Kirkwood Electric is always interested in reinvesting money back into Kirkwood community services and operations.

Kirkwood Electric Director, Mark Petty, collaborated with a group of eighth grade students in Chis Hooker’s Ecology class at North Kirkwood Middle School. These students were competing in the Gateway Green Schools project to devise and implement a creative, effective and low cost sustainable practice to improve the environment. 

As a result, at the February 6^th City Council Meeting Mayor Tim Griffin presented a proclamation establishing the last weekend in February Operation Clean Sweep Weekend.  To read more about this initiative, click here.
